In seventh grade, I made this elephant pinch pot. It was not very smooth and the tail had fallen off, so for this challenge I decided to re-create this pot. This time, I made sure to smooth out the pot and have a tail. For my development activities, I researched how to make a pinch pot, I found resource images of elephant pinch pots, and I sketched my pot before making it. Right now it is in the kiln. It looks a lot smoother and the craftsmanship is better, and things aren't falling off of it.

For my challenge challenge, I did watercolor because it is something I would like to get better at. My goal was to make a landscape with watercolor. The first picture is my baseline, and the second is my final product. I learned that when you put water on your paper before the watercolor, it is easier to blend. I also learned that adding water to the color will make it a lighter shade, rather than the white water color.
For my learn project, I studied calligraphy art. My goal was to learn how to form calligraphy letters. The first picture is the baseline, and the second is my final product. I learned that it is easier to form your letters all at once rather than do all your letters and then go back with the swoops and add more value to some parts. It is also easier to use different sized pens.
This is my collage. I used mixed media in this piece. for the globe, I used pictures from a magazine. For the background I simply painted a piece of paper black. I also used modge podge for a clear coating. For the words, I used newspaper. One thing I learned was that it is easier to do a rough sketch of your artwork and then fill it in with the paper. One thing I wish to improve on is smoothing out the wrinkles the rubber cement created.
