I chose to do plums as my fruit. I think I did a good job with having all of the different colors in my piece. It was hard to blend them all together but I think I did it well. I drew from life and I put the fruit on a white piece of paper, so the shadows turned out a little odd, but I don't think it necessarily looks bad. I tried to make them look really life like, and the shadow adds that perspective. It was hard because there was such a definite difference between the yellow and the red/purple, but I blended it as seamlessly as I could have. Overall, I really like how they turned out.

I chose to do a picture of myself paddleboarding as my reflection piece. This reflects me because I really enjoy being outside and I love to go to the lake. I love to paddleboard and swim and kayak and all that jazz. My favorite parts of the piece are the trees and the water. I find it hard to make colored pencil super realistic, so I took a different approach and kind of tried to make the water and trees more abstract than realistic, but not to the point that you can't tell what it is. Areas that I could improve on is my mechanics overall. I find colored pencil hard to work with. I also think I messed up the proportions of my body. My arms are too long and slender and my legs are too long and fat. I'm happy with how this turned out because I think it's very pretty and visually pleasing even though it's not super realistic.

For my altered book, I used lyrics and songs by Harry Styles to inspire the pages. I included my interpretation of the song and lyrics on each page. I personally struggled with this project a lot because I was having trouble coming up with ideas for it. I think that in retrospect I could have tried harder to make my pages more creative. My craftsmanship should have been better. It was different from what I usually do, but I think it helped me grow as an artist.

For my self portrait, I used oil paint. I decided to do the portrait in black and white with a pop of color for the background. I'm happy with how it turned out because in comparison to my last self-portrait, there is a lot of improvement. I think I could have fixed a couple of things. My blending isn't as smooth as I would have hoped and my hair is streaky. I feel like it looks a little messy, but the more I added and tried to alter it, the messier it got. I didn't have a super fine brush, so it was hard to be detailed. I think that it looks like me, so I would say that this was a successful piece.
